A Reason to Live (Sonnet) by indiechic656
Her easy smile is much akin to light,
as anything that cheers one up should be;
a friend to hardship always adds delight,
chasing away all things that bother me.
But it was her, not me, who needed hope;
A friend erases all the hurt and pain;
supports bound tight, though neither one could cope;
In losing freedom, rules and fear she'd gained.
A hidden shadow lurking cornerwise,
not visible, but still there all the same.
A masked avenger that I so despise,
A rampant thing even the best can't tame.
Effectively, with mind and soul it toyed;
A thing removed is not a thing destroyed.
