summers children (Free verse) by w~* ATHENA *~w
there was a big bump on my elbow i thought it was an idea but it was only a bite from a spider under my bed. there was a sunburn on my head i thought it was an idea but it was only an itch after a day at the beach. there was a scratch on my knee i thought it was something bleeding but it was only one of those spills on my bike. there was a flavor of ice in my mouth i thought it was something cold but it was only the taste of what I will become. there was the memory of riding the swing i thought it was me free And it was.
