Invasion (Free verse) by INTRANSIT
Last night
an angry Muskie
snuck in through my window well.
She swam upstairs and bashed
a lamp setting the light free.
She searched fo me, swatting a picture
from the wall and spilling petals to
the floor.
When she found me, I started to run,
dodging in and out of rooms, but to no avail.
She picked up my collar with her hook
shaped lower jaw.
Then, with ever increasing speed she swam
loops through my kitchen, exited, accelerated more and
stopped short of the dead end hall sending me face first
into the wall. WHAMWHUMP!
Dazed, I lay watching her with my peripheral vision
as she entered the bedroom and flipped the bed
like a pancake. KAWHAM!
I heard her mutter:"you work for me now"
as she lingered towards the garage.
I heard the THUMP! as she left behind
her tailprint in the quarter panel of my car.
