STAR WARS (Free verse) by Garrett S Sexton
Young and groovy. I faced the dark side.
A long hair with all the power of the force.
I was a kid barely a man,
A real life rebel with a cause.
Sweat fell from my brow as I pulled on my lightsaber.
Justice was coming, sweet was it's taste.
Tanned with vengence at my masters death.
Good looking, back flipping. A big hitter.
An audience on the verge
Then it came, washed right over me and drowned me in a pit of doubt and
negative emotion.
I had to. I had to hold back somehow?
Shutting out friend and foe alike, as my X wing rocked and rolled, one
voice, one voice came.
It counted!
I did the business, but it wasn't over. Success sure, for now, but he
was still out there.
The battle had been won, but not the war.
The Empire may strike back, and.I must be ready.
Ready.
