The Crucible (Free verse) by Win
For how long must I burn? How long shall I await your love? When will I ever learn? Beware lest I discover when the dross dissolves away the true mettle in my heart and leave you for always Why should I be refined? as if my love were not enough Why, if you search the whole wide earth you'll never chance to find a love like this, a heart as good and true as mine Be careful how you handle me Someday your luck could turn and you might find out for yourself what it is to burn
