Lone Wander (Free verse) by bsjones84
Today I walked among the trees and the grass, I watched them sway against the pale blue sky, As if their beauty offered happiness to me, But to my heart it was sorrow for the loneliness within. The sun's rays kissed my neck with their warmth, The wind wrapped me like nature's hug, But I seemed unfeeling to it all. If my heart could be knit to another heart, Maybe I could feel the wind's solacing, If I had a soul to love and it seemed we're one, How much more beauty would I see? The birds' chirps and calls catch my ear, But they fall short of my heart's hearing, The aggregation holds no pith, The nebby burghal is a distant hum to my heart. If I had my love, who loved me, How much purport would I feel? If our presence was soul wraped with soul, What condoling would I need?
