To the memory of Leonie Rysanek (Free verse) by vulcan
Dear Leonie,I heard your voice When it soared above the skies Cracked through the clouds and pierced my heart! O You the Sleep-walker of the most beautific Dream Scores of tunes entuned and I deem When stood midst that Greek Strauss-envisaged waste BY passion stunned With what superhuman Frown you cried That made Blood synthesize in Sound? That I could see in those cavernous eyes The hushed-harsh pain of Electra revived! "Ich bin dies Blut!" Dies Blut!In that petal of a tone I saw Grace midst Confusion born! Dear Leonie you have so maddened me That I imagine our earth Was made to hear your meteorite of a call and die! Death...yes,but what's that to a restless soul Born by a Curtain's rise only to leave midst applause? O my brittle of a voice Soar up,higher and higher Find the empty space filled with a mysterious note It's Leonie the Star, the Last Queen of Spades, With Orpheus and Eurydice joined in Ionian feasts! Sour up frail little thing Live Live and die Die with hers "Ich bin dies Blut..." Dies Blut...dies Blut... Leonie Rysanek(1926-1998)the famous opera singer, sang 2hundred and 99 performances of 24 roles.made her farwell performance as Queen of Spades on jan.1996. "ich bin dies Blut"meaning "I am that blood".from Strauss'opera Electra.
