Sprinklers (Free verse) by KarmicTwiggy
Like ascending footsteps the rain begins to fall And I am left here to pick up the tab After the sky is done with it After the earth is done with it And quickly it goes, like a stranger visiting in the night Unseen Unrecognized Observing The kind that knows what kind of socks you wear And what you like to eat But not a threat Almost admiration Beautiful in its loneliness And alone in its beauty The lines of my windowpane are blurry And then clear Concise as if nothing was ever there to smear them Without a trace the glass dries its tears And proceeds to be glass My mind goes back to the stranger My eyes go back to the sky I go back to my work I panic- something in my memory is both disturbed and comforted Things aren't always as they seem.
