Content in our slavery We're taught The roots of heritage belong to the land Unwittingly exploited We smile Our hunger satisified By poisonous crops Deceived believers We obey Harvesting ideals Planted by television Gods With soil stained hands We give Donating time and money That was never ours Until fields lay empty Frozen roots Sleep in an earthen prison Finally we are free
