The Devil Made Her Do It (Free verse) by Limness
She opens the box And draws out her cards Smudges the surface, Smoothes out the cloth She shuffles and hums And quiets the mind Brings in the light Closes the blinds Pregnant with question Making a mantra Tapping the deck She slaps out Arcana Adjusts the Hanged Man Across the Priestess Above and Below, Present and past Her goal, her future, Her self, her blocks Answers form In Coins and Cups Now that she knows that Confront him she must The Tower will fall But the Fool's in the past When Judgement comes Temperance answers She looks at the spread, Bared here in this cross Inverts the last card And laughs for her loss
