Up The Road Aways (Free verse) by harrytuttle
Walking the hollow, simple world
I balk at the thought of a cereal breakfast
In a cardboard box of time
I sit slinging slugs of muck
to the wind
and thinking about something
I forgot long ago
Before things mangled themselves
And time stood still.
But trudge on we must
Thru the gloomy night
Into the too bright dawn
