A Short Message to You (Free verse) by jess33
I am sick of kicking pebbles.
All I ask
is that You let me move mountains.
These petty tasks You give me
before You go leave me tired,
and frustrated.
From the time I was a child,
I have done what You asked.
Well, at least most of the time,
and where is the recompence?
Continually You push the envelope of my faith,
knowing that I am a competitor,
always pulling for the parochial underdog.
All I ask
is that You let me move mountains.
On Sundays, and some Wednesdays,
I come in, I sit down, I am moved.
As I listen, my hope is renewed.
I am a believer in You as always,
and You get your way with me once again.
Walking out I kick the pebbles
and add to my plan to change the world.
All I ask
is that You let me move mountains.
