Uptown spell! (Other) by liya
Lounging in the cozy coffee shop couch With Irish coffee and cookies from the pouch Watching the traffic and people who ply Missing my village, its serenity and smiles never sly Startled I rouse from my reveries of years long past For what I saw left me ecstatic but yet aghast I saw my Mira crossing the street In shiny leather coat and stilettos on her feet Once she represented my bygone days of blithe and joy When a simple village bloom was a wonder and toy Hand in hand chasing butterflies and kites Sharing stories of lore late into star studded nights When did it all change, why did you go Instead of tingling anklets now chafing heels glow Your eyes that once sparkled with innocent dreams Now reflect weariness or is it stifled screams? Don’t you ever long for lotus ponds and kites? Don’t you ever crave for our starry nights? Don’t you yearn to hear old village songs? Or wake up to heavenly chirpy dawns… But answers I’ll never educe for any of these questions For glance she does not as she strides away to expanse City ‘I sigh is both maze and spell A virtual world, where masked strangers dwell!
