Remembering Nick (Free verse) by jessicazee
the last time we kissed you had more teeth, smiled more, we ate thin-crust pizza at Zoo Beach, chased bully seagulls and that goose! he almost ate your cigarette butt, you looked at the lake and said, "jellyfish are so smart" all the bottles we broke we picked them up, the green and the brown glass, "when I die burn everything and start the fire with my shirt" the grit I bit tonight from a clay bowl in Mexico is a fire you lit and your shirt from Russia I'm wearing it
