Moving On (Free verse) by MacFrantic
Amen for the losses,
and again for the gains.
I'm not sure we're ready
for fortune and fame.
But once in awhile
we'll see ourselves blessed
and even more so
we'll be put to the test.
So I'm asking you now
In a moment of clarity
just what are the terms
for a taste of your charity?
I'm constantly spinning
in a circular motion.
So you play me like a top.
Can't get enough of your potion.
Sometimes I say "stop,"
like I've finally had it,
but you drive me around
like I'm an automatic.
There are memories here
to make a small house a home.
I can see what you want
and it's a home of your own.
Are you afraid to be happy?
What's on your agenda?
Can you compromise with me,
or are you broke down and fed up?
I'd like to help you cope
I really would, I swear.
You've always had me guessing
about what is and isn't fair.
So every time we pass
I'll just nod and keep walking,
because I can't hear your words
when your actions are talking.
