I jumped from the top of the Empire State Building The month was August The sun was setting How cliché A bit more than a quarter mile And as I fell The wind pulled dreams from my head. Memories exploded upwards from my chest As my words faded with them I stood at the top of the Empire State Building The month was August The sun was rising How cliché A bit more than a quarter mile Looking down I saw my twisted and empty body Little changed of me as I occupied myself And nothing else
