Upon meeting Mrs Gunn at the Butchers (Free verse) by Mr Pig
I met her by the pork bellies she purchased some lambs liver One noticed her wellies had been dirtied by the river. I said pardon me but have we met before and she replied 'cor blimey yes at the record store' Yes Yes I said you sold me a vinyl T'was a 45 replica of the Worcestersshire final. She said No I think your mistaken it was my twin sister You know the one, ginger hair with a facial blister Yes Yes my dear it all becomes clear T'was at the church of st john in the fall of last year. Oh yah for sure she said as she folded her liver How is your wife are you still together No darling shes dead she got ran over by a truck Oh I 'm so very sorry yet she always had bad luck So may I ask you Hilda would you accompany me for a dinner and dance at the Adelphi Oh I say that is most kind Could i bring my son Ahmed do you mind Good Golly no you've a darkie son? what will the neighbors say I bid you good day Mrs Gunn
