Gracy (An ode to my greyhound) (Ode) by mindsigns
Gracy sleeps at home tonight
frighten by the thunder
She doesn't want to show her face
slowly slipping under the dark
and she doesn't bark.
Gracy hides her baby
she loves to be a mother
she takes her baby everywhere
she doesn't want to smother that spark
and she doesn't bark.
Gracy like to go outside
she struts around like a queen
the scent of air and the grass
it's her own private park
and she doesn't bark.
She's dreaming of a roadie
on a lonely desert island
chasing through the shadows
where nothing's straight or narrow
and she's moving so fast
Yes she's moving so fast
like a hungry, hungry arrow
that pierces through the past.
R.I.P. Aug 6, 2006
Gracy's in that great racetrack in the sky now.
