The Calling (Free verse) by PoeticXTC
An old star descends from the sky, Thou shall not mourn. Shimmering bright and strong, New life is born. Trickling from the heavens, Feel no pain. Heartfelt, they’d watch Tear’s of rain. The star glistens, We stand amazed. Fireflies in the night Continue they’d gaze. Leave behind little memories, Except for few. They saw in love; sincerity, his heart They saw, they knew. What little they knew, tiny they know He shined bright. Little there was to say; to see, They saw his light. That star; he smiles, he’s going home Father calls That star, he smiles, “I’m on my way”.
