Devictus (Ode) by nocturnalism
Into the night that covers me, Black as the Pit from pole to pole I curse whatever gods may be For my unforgivable soul In the fell clutch of circumstance I have both failed and cried aloud Under the bludgeonings of chance My head is bloody, and in shame is bowed Beyond this place of wrath and tears Looms but the Horror of the shade, And soon the menace of the years Finds, and shall find me bent and afraid It matters not how great the hate, How charged with punishments the scoll, I am not the master of my fate; I am not the captain of my soul
