Skyline (Free verse) by MacFrantic
I deliberated and lost
An argument within my body
Only to yield no easy solution
And when I find you
It will come at a certain cost to know
What I think of anything at all
Because I have dreams of fear
I see it as twisted lines
Too much for nights to endure
And I look out the window
Early in the morning
There are slanted mountain tops
Portraits outlined professionally
Colors that these eyes hardly believe
It is a great thing to be here
To live above hard realities
I see it is breakfast soon
On the face of my digital clock
So I rest a little more
Listening to the world wake
It is not up to me to know things
People tell me my motives
They are clear and they are sometimes
Right and wrong and I wonder
If they are ever just
Nothing
The morning is by far the best
A wonderful part of my day
I write and speak in ways
I wouldn't normally
But it feels so much more natural
A momentary euphoria defines us
That keeps us existing
Because without it
Our paths in life would be clear
And a clear path is pitied
I can stand on my own
I can act how I do
And take credit for other's misfortune
That is a luxury freedom provides
The freedom to be dirty
Filthy beasts who care for thievery
And who love little else but themselves
A confession is too bold
It answers questions that were never asked
Will power doesn't change a thing
When all the questioners are too busy
To consider the minor possibility
Of sudden reciprocation
I've told you things in my bed
Writing curses on the wall
Wondering when I will truly wake
Stop resting and dress for the day
When I will throw away
The best thing I've ever written
Or said
Just because the day was too good
Too right for words
A commodity
The language we cherish
I cannot express the beauty I feel
