Awakening (Free verse) by Quarton
I slowly awake
from slumber's brief rest,
that schism between dream
and reality; mundane concepts
re-emerge into illusion,
duality's deception.
Suddenly, my body spins,
out of control.
A wirling dervish
transforms into pure energy,
disperses unimpeded
through time and space.
Essence permeates deeper
into unbroken wholeness,
an atavistic trip
backwards in evolution's
unfolding.
My being joins with
yesterday's singularity
where opposites
no longer exist,
all questions unasked
and without meaning.
Shared unity perceived
with the clarity
of a single thought,
the poet's turning
of a phrase,
enveloped by the cosmic Ohm.
