Shoestring Salutation (Free verse) by MacFrantic
I am off and over you Leaving this moment saturated A heavy creamer of guilt Guzzled down into easy consumption I can say hello as I'm leaving Not think twice about protocol To meet the person I thought I never knew An angel with a moral grudge Slight patches of chaos scatter me A thousand droplets of anguish Scoured moonlight dancing on my fingers I toxify the air with regret But going and coming are mutual They pass over a common threshold One choice-riddled entry way Often hastily passed through too soon
