You, the Line, and I (Free verse) by MacFrantic
Here I shall draw a line. And it will run long- Wrapping through the alleys. It will run deep. Bleed into the street- Far down to the blackest soil. And this line- With no end in sight- Sets us so many miles apart. _____________________________ Now you curse the barrier. Though it is just- And so admittedly fair. Words caress the horizen. Calls beckon the line to bend- Calls in vain. We arrive at swift glances. Considering the circumstances- No meaning comes of them. But another line appears. More defined than the first- Which closes fast upon us.
