Mother Earth (Free verse) by TLRufener
Mother Earth Has gone to sleep. Lamenting, the wind Wails and weeps. For winter months We are on our own Living the lessons Taught by the crone. Mother Earth now leaves Her children to live. She gave all the love This year had to give. The harvests have come And now have gone, Leaving the Earth to heal The winter long. When springtime comes On an early morn, Mother Earth shall live Once again reborn.
