The Measurement (Free verse) by thepinkbunnyofdoom
He looked down at the table and counted his shots She'd broke so now the cue was his and one thing, One thing was yet to be determinded, How long did he want to play this game? He decided to make an impressive start First a simple cut here and some skilled language Then a declicate feat, which he casually ignored Seeing the challenge of her eyes He gave her control, but under his terms He held his lead, but used her every move To his advantage He had already seen every angle, every line He toyed with her, cruel but commanding Few knew that this had once been, his proving grounds Where he met with rockstars and wishful thinkers To prove that he was still more than fiction She struggled, but couldn't break free of his design The traps had been layed with care and precision She knew he had her, but couldn't help but try But at the end of the day, She fell short of his measure
