spiders and butterflies (Free verse) by Mona Lisa
Tied in silk It weaved a trap Watched your demise Drained our insides And watched us fall In the glint of raindrops. Love is a predator It enters as butterflies And leaves as a spider On a ground of still wings And cud of spewed hearts. From the air of its fluttering At least we breathed Saw its short lived beauty soar Then spin like silk and sycamore.
