Guinness (Free verse) by Dovina
Â
His friends walk out at midnight
from Darganâs Pub and Ale House.
He thinks about driving home,
then orders another brew.
Â
âIâm a good guy with a few habits,â he says,
and slapping his Guinness on the bar,
âI work hard and like a good time.â
Â
As we share a final beer,
he refuses to blame a woman,
does not even accuse the help.
What a good sport he is.
I give him style points for honesty.
Â
Heâs a good man to talk to,
goes down like a pina colada,
smooth and sweet.
