Summer nights alone and their affect on the psyche (Free verse) by oneglove
They tell me days are getting shorter But I’ve never been much for the science of things The hands on my heart must be running slow They’re losing minutes every day -------------------------------- The summer has started The tides have turned The night begins to reclaim the day The setting sun will slumber sooner The orange shades of the crashing sun air in prime time The idiot box has run out of new things to say The brilliant hues in the sky are the new must see The cooling air creates the perfect atmosphere Love is blooming and it strolls through the town Hand in hand in the moments before twilight It is here I wait for my beloved But you, my love, cannot be found --------------------------------- These words are never enough I always write them anyway These miles are always too much I swear I'll right them some day
