Call of the Moon (Free verse) by arduinn
In the forest of the night Basked in the shine of moonlight He howled in deep sorrow For the one he longed to know Though his kind mate for life Loyal to one and love even in strife She’d flee if she knows what he truly is So how could he hope for eternal bliss? How could he approach her like any other man? When in reality he’s not really one of them Couldn’t quite fit in the world of mortals Found inadequate surviving as animals Because when the moon is full He sheds his skin and hunts for his meal Losing all sense of moral judgment And behaving in a sheer beastly manner
