Escapism (Free verse) by vulcan
I worked hard today And came back home... Rather late; A woman opened a door I entered and heard Thin voices crying...or giggling? "Children are hungry!"the woman said. What the hell she meant?I wondered. She put some food before me Something hot,Damned hot! I got up to get some fresh air Somewhere not there; The woman stopped me short, Pointed to the... Thin-voiced gnomes And said "I need money!" I stumbled over something Sank in a chair And covered my face.
