The Serpent People (Free verse) by horus8
I fold my mind in your lines mother, and our people from before Noah Atlantean, my ancestors, from the sea Viracocha, remembered in legend; As a teacher -- a white man of august in cusma, and the shiny ones. A bearded man, past his prime with staff and love -- calling all, his sons and daughters Later the Spanish would melt your temple down, and kill all of your children from Chile to North America. Oh what brave men these deceptive mutts with priests on horses, and gold guided noses. Mother, the spider you drew... How did you know its reproductive organs were on that particular leg? Matched up to the constellation Orion. It all points back to his belt, but men are swine. Bent on staring at the ground and soaking their paws in blood Men are set in keeping us, here; and we will all die forgetting. At Machu Pichu, dreaming of giants, and secret names of demons in the stone Carvers of this earth and others. Animated by Mercury in vapor engine -- Wand of Cadacus Calling fire from the sky, and magnet from the ground. Do you think they know of the connection between the angels and the dinosaurs like I have forced myself to find? That monkey with mandala tail, and Pythagorean leap bounding for the mountains -- shooting for the sun.
