Desert Rain (Free verse) by donmiguel1960
The blustery weather gusts forward A Scent of earth and tears commingle Leaves fly across expressions Anticipation of the tempest forms Mysterious clouds on the horizon Vistas of streams commencing from the skies Torrent is drawing nearer The earth begging for relief A thousand years have broken Gradually, unquestionably the reward is presented In an instant water pouring Exhilaration appears all so enduring Just as all comfort is assured The desert rain seems to slow to a mist Please don’t prevent the rain The brooks are not yet brought back The wilderness downpour has closed Unyielding scorching of the sun ruptures throughout All has a sweet sent of relief Blessing the land was short lived A thousand years begin again Hearts are sad again, yearning for the healing to return Life’s barren region grows hot Only hoping to survive to the next desert rain Miguel Antonio Francis
