driven (Free verse) by ThePariahDog
left sometimes hanging, baking
often caught in the twilight between nine and twelve
right on the emergency lever
protecting myself from aggravating nonsense
which puts me on the edge of all out war
touch and go objectives make the waypoints clear
and spur an obsidian chariot forward
devil driven influences enable an inner calmness
that prevails regardless of phenolic squealing
swinging my head to glance behind
emptiness fills a necessary blindspot
surrounding air permissibly drags me to a halt
tires rebelling against the lethargic summer heat
slowing only for hellish signals
persistently barring my expedient passage
