romance and chorus lines (Lyric) by unknown^user
If I was to meet a girl, she could only be from Mesa
a waitress at a coffee shop on East Apache Trail
She would enjoy her work, but hope for something better
something more applicable to her degree in Cryonics
I would spend 8 hours, at Sky Harbor Airport
reading a magazine and closely watching the time
She would approach, our eyes locking intently
and the patrons of the terminal would form a chorus line
The music would be, from the movie "Risky Business"
and the finale would be like the musical "Oklahoma"
With pistols in the air, we would spill into the center
and after we stop, she would miss her plane to Cleveland
We would move to Oracle, living with a preacher
and spend our days searching for Edward Abbey's gold
I would write a novel, about the sex life of sea horses
and she would sell fudge to the Pennsylvanian tourists
As we grew older, we would write each other letters
and tell tall tales about 60's folk singers
The windows would be clouded, the sky would be purple
and we would uproot yuccas in the shade of the moon
When I grew withered, she would steal my favorite jacket
and run away with a latin dance instructor
But I would just smile, while driving back to my apartment
and sleep well knowing that I had won in The end.
