Where Have All the Punk Rockers Gone? (Free verse) by wilco
The best are kept at bay.
An inverted Darwinian orgy of sound.
Festering on the vines,
while the gods of old lose interest.
There's a change in the air.
Bordering on disturbing.
Clamoring for approval,
as a million records hit the floor.
It's getting very quiet in the world.
For the moment, at least.
Turn off the radio,
so that you can hear it too.
Can you hear it?
