Escape (Free verse) by PawnedTidal
Slowly, I wipe away These salty tears. How I long for someone To calm my fears. I remember my failures. I ponder my success. The disappointments weigh heavily-- I want out of this mess. As I reach down, My eyes reflect metallic gleam. Maybe things aren't as bad As they sometimes seem. The wrists are stained; I await Heaven's rejection. It won't be the first time-- I've become accustomed to dejection. An eternity of Hell; Or a lifetime thereof. I shall peer enviously Toward those up above.

Up the ladder: Sawdust
Down the ladder: Insomnia
