Starving (Free verse) by ifni
I watch without watching; smile without smirking; bathe in the warm glow of your joy, starving. Your joy resounds, and while shaken, I find myself painless - just hungry, deprived of my dreams. And so, I know - my love is just hunger, my lust just a wishful thought, my desire is for normalcy, not you. lying to myself, again. What other way to know no hate/pain/fear? 3.5.2002 JV

I was *so* glad you said "smile without smirking" instead of "smile without smiling".

Overall, beautiful. I didn't like "your joy resounds" -- it didn't feel like it went with the rest of the poem.

I relate to the message in this poem completely - thanks so much for penning companionship in this mode of thought - Searching
