metaphor (Free verse) by jsd
Once upon a time Not long ago I wrote, and spoke, and thought in metaphor Until I and everything became just a method for Finding some love, oh, filling up a love Now I don’t really write, or speak, or think anymore And nothing’s the same as it ever was before Oh, you tell me what, what it’s for Tell me how to untangle all the metaphors Yeeaaah, I’m doing fine Oh, and I am bored Out of my mind Yeah, I’m doing fine And just looking for a sign Just looking for a sign Yesterday, nothing new really happened Today’s the just same, today is just the same The ennui, the idle waltzes, what happened to all the friends? There’s no one else to blame But ooh, I don’t wanna bend I don’t wanna bend I am doing fine Oh, and I am bored Out of my mind Yeah, I’m doing fine But you gotta wonder Where you fell behind Ooh, I’m doing fine Trying to find a design Ooh, I’m doing fine And I am bored Out of my mind
