Retrospect (Free verse) by hmph
Back in the days of painful epitomes And waned promises Back in the days of mindless, elementary corruption We still managed To find ourselves Back in the days of unsung glory And impossible dreams Back in the days of constant repression We still managed To find a light Back in the days of unrighteousness And temporary delusions Back in the days of misplaced primarities We still managed To hold on

Far too preachy. 3. The repetition of 'back in the days' throughout the poem shows a lack of imagination, and coming to think about it, so does the poem in it's entitity. A bore from start to finish. This poem tells me nothing.
