As the Weary Try to Rest (Other) by AnotherNothing
As the weary try to rest Forgetting lives they detest Far across the lonely night Lies the endless blinking light Following direction without reason Victim of an ancient treason Erected solely for meaningless gain The blinking light shines in vain Neglected except for restoration Unconcerned with its' salvation Ignorant of its' fatal suppression Only to crumble without impression Ignoring its' incessant plight It dims its' lights that shine too bright As the weary wake repressed Shining and fading without protest

Up the ladder: A Bronze Mule
Down the ladder: protest chant

I detest the rhymes they puntuate the flow of the rhythm and meaning of this poem , they draw you from meaning to mere sound
