Eat (Free verse) by somemorepoetry
Climb the stairs Bound down the hall Gentle waves of music Pulsing and moving the air Dancing thickly on my breath Trusting my feet to Bend as it sweeps between my toes Pausing on the tip of my lips Praying to tell what it tells me Placing itself between my ears Darling, eat this plum The fog rests like a lion On my lawn, waiting To move when I, prey, Step out the door Breakfast comes but once While we are young Eat quickly The music is done

Up the ladder: Death & the Twisted Tree
Down the ladder: How many
