the universe is throbbing (Free verse) by FreeFormFixation
last night i saw two stars burn out in succession, i think perhaps they never thought that such an event would be noticed. but i noticed. did anyone else? i'm inclined to believe that such a desire is pointless. the world is just a single spark in a failing synapse, in a repressed impulse. and i am just one electron among all the others that strive to eject others from their cloud. and i wonder, is our own sun next? and will we even notice? or have day and night become the same thing? time constraints only take numbers into account. but i would notice. even if in noticing i'm branded a heretic or a schizophrenic idealist. because my pessimistic observation would go unnoticed in the United Nations.

Why would you ruin a great poem by injecting it with politics?

Do you think the united nations is concerned as much about electrons as you are?
