We came from afar to your beautiful land
We shot you and killed you when you tried to hold out your hand
We took your children cause we thought you were not fit
And we laughed as you danced around the fires you lit
Over two hundred years have long since past
Not many full bloods remain only a lot of half casts
Back then we broke up your tribes and put to work or in jail
And many called you weak blacks when you became old or frail
We know now we should of listened and learnt your ways
Cause you nurtured this country of ours for many long days
For thousands of years you lived for this land that you cherished
And now looks what we have done to this land which has perished
Can we together please call your dreamtime back?
So it will give us the knowledge that we all lack
The hot burning fires, parched arid and dry droughts and flooding wet
rain
All this troubled land somehow I think us whites are to blame
It may be to late for sorry's or too late to make amends
If we work together, all colours and races maybe this land just might
not end
I ask for us all, can you find it inside to forgive
And help us make a new life where happily we all can live
Donât do it for us
We alone donât deserve a tomorrow
Please donât say no because of hatred or lack of trust
Do it to heal your once pristine land, to heal its pain and sorrow
And please do it for the love you have for this land, our sweet country
The land that truly belongs to all you native Kooriâs
