Miss You, Love (Free verse) by heartlessempath
When I leave Tomorrow What will you do? I almost wish for your tears As a sort of selfish tribute To me Even if I don’t deserve it. But then, what do I deserve? We always swore it would be Love and chocolate hearts And opium kisses: sweet and smoky So, do I deserve one last kiss? No. That’s too much for me I couldn’t live, couldn’t leave and Move on without you If I had that last Tender, bitter goodbye That would be too big for me. So, then, what do I deserve? To be a memory in a box, with Pictures, ticket stubs and Pieces of paper with our names scrawled All over them? No. I can’t bear to think, Even now, that you would treat me so kindly When I’m gone. I’ve finally figured out what I deserve You. The way we promised each other The sort of love that never left. And so I’m leaving now. To find it. I’m leaving you behind, Cold in a grave of broken promises And I’m hoping that someday When we’re all healed enough to Look back and cry without hating I’ll find out your phone number From an old mutual friend And be able to call you up Just to chat and reminisce Without fear of Breaking anything we couldn’t Fix again Miss you, love And I always will. But I’m leaving now. I’ll always know where you are It’s just me that I’ve lost.

Up the ladder: Lonely Tears
Down the ladder: Summer

Opium is not sweet it is a narcotic, it is dreamy yes.
