overripe,
so sweet they bleed summer,
and take
a piece of me with you
Kiss me like secrets
shyly,
so precious to you alone,
filled
with a passion for keeping
Kiss me like lightning,
shocking,
and hot enough to melt
your heart
and soul in your chest
But above all,
Kiss me, and often
Up the ladder:

This poem is to american poetry what farming is to terrorism.
I was thinking the same thing, except instead of american poetry it was gekos and instead of farming it was the invention of indoor plumbing and instead of terrorism it was vanilla pudding.
eh. kind of grossed me out - all that blood and seared flesh.
