The Picture (Free verse) by Butterfly1120
She left her picture on the ground Her memories began to drift away. The thought that life in itself was torn without that picture in her hands. She walked silently away from the place There was no turning back. With a head hanging low, she continued on Still the picture seeping through her mind. The memories flashing like never before The thoughts became so real. The vivid dreams of life in the past Why was this happening now? Quietly humming a lullaby as she walked One she used to sing. The voice was lingering in her ear A memory of a life forgotten. There was no flowers by the grave Only a picture of her. A mother, a friend, someone to remember A picture of a thousand words.

Up the ladder: Stand by me
Down the ladder: Tough Love
