my shadow hides behind the doorway, with gloom and dread it stands, waiting in the wings, to cut me down once again, like a demon out of control, it always stays a step ahead, nothing seems to ever matter to it, it keeps my heart hidden behind, always swallowing it whole, it wastes away my life, with fear of whats out there, fear of what they will think, if they knew what was under, this darkness I keep a hold on, as a mask of protection, hiding away what really is, there to be seen of me, beneath it all
