Afraid (Free verse) by Brittanyy
Its kills me to see you so helpless Hand trembling as you hold that half empty bottle. There is nothing I can do..I've tried to help but you push me away.. Lying alone in your own self pity drinking away your problems but only causing new ones..Keeping the ones you already have.. Im tired of waiting for you to come around I try to leave you behind but I am trapped in shackles of my own guilt.. The one who took care of me all of my life, The one who once would have died for me now Dies before me... I cant get away if I leave what will happen to you? Im afraid to leave... The poison has taken your voice, once so encouraging now filled with hate... The poison takes your actions what was once a hug or kiss, is now an angry shove or a slap in the face... Im afraid to leave.. You tell me that you wish I would leave you alone but once My foot is out the door you beg me to stay.. What am I supposed to do? No one understands... I am Afraid to leave, But I am Afraid to stay...

Heard the story many times before.

'The one who once would have died for me now
Dies before me...'

stood out, a nice play on words which is more than you get from most poems.

Ooh! Useless ellipses and whining self-pity! Darling, you could have a great career writing poemes for uses as emetics. Don't waste your talent on us.
