Nostalgia of Safe Days (Free verse) by Hostileintent
If only these walls could speak And tell us of every week What would they say About every day About every day they see If we had the time to hear About year, after year, after year Would they tell us about the whispers Those secretive whispers They hear After all, those walls hold memories Nostalgic memories of times When men were boys And friends were fun And lives still had miles to run But now we leave, these walls alone Alone to hold out thoughts, alone Of a time of growth, of learning Of security and a home Of battles fought, and notes sent home For thóse were the best times, of our lives For we had safety from the lies Even when they punnished you We áll need one or two They were truly the times for lives I will miss those horrid days Those long hours, those rotten pages Some of us got those pages And teared...And teared...And teared I will miss those secure days For truly I am scared
